COGIS is a Geographic Information System (GIS)-based tool that allows users to turn complex data sets into maps and other easy-to-understand visualizations, revealing the relationships, patterns, and trends that help tell a story.
COGIS has thousands of layers of national, state, county, and local data on children and youth, poverty, education, civic engagement, food, health, housing, the environment, and transportation. With this tool, you can:
report & visualize data at local, regional, and national levels; identify relationships among obesity and numerous other factors, such as neighborhoods’ socioeconomic status, residents’ health attributes, prevalence of fast-food restaurants, or ease of walking; and produce maps, reports, and “what-if” scenarios.
